SERVICES (continuation)
Septic systems Installation
For a good operating sceptic installation and for environmental protection as well, provincial regulations on
sewage and water disposal and wastewater treatment for remote housings (Q-2, r.8) enact that a sceptic installtion must be drained within a certain frequency.
Also, since June 6 2006, a municipal bylaw was adopted in order to ensure that the frequency is respected.
You must now forward a copy of your invoice of proper disposal within 30 days
to the town clerk. Take note that for a summer cottage, a sceptic
system must be drained every four (4) years, while every two (2) years for a
full time residence. For a sealed pit, it must be drained when necessary or at
a minimum every two (2) years. You can forward your invoice copy by mail
to city hall or by fax at (819) 686-3820.
Civic Numbers
A little reminder to all home owners not to forget to display your civic number on
the front of the main building or if it is too far from the street, at the entrance of your property.
This would not only help identify your home but also it can save your life allowing the emergency services to find
it rapidly. Think about it, this is simple but quite efficient !
Pools
Did you know that Quebec is the province renowned
(not something we are proud of) with the most drownings in residential pools? There are twice as many residential drownings in the province of Quebec compared to the ones of Ontario which comes in 2nd position nonetheless. The main cause of these drownings is the over-accessibilty to pools. We offer you the possibility to come by your home and check if the layout of your pool is safe. If so, please contact planning authority at 681-3371,
ext : 5007.
